Overheard...

Elaina has been reading labels on all of our food lately.  The other day we were having bologna sandwiches and she picked up the package of bologna and said, "Mom, this bologna lasts a long time.  It says on here its good for over 125 years!"

Adoption Update!

We are one step closer towards bringing our little boy home!  We finished our second home study visit yesterday.  I spent the week cleaning the house and going crazy trying to make sure everything was perfect.  K talked to us for a while and asked the girls a couple of questions and that was it.  She got up to leave and said, "Oh, yeah, can I look around the house quick?"  She had already seen the main part of the house walking in, so she just poked her head in a couple of the rooms and said everything looked good!  All that worry for nothing!  :)  We are approved for two kids, but are only planning on one at this point. 

Now, we need to finish a little more paperwork to send off to our agency and then wait for K to write up our homestudy.

Family Photos

Still haven't gotten around to the kids' individual photos, but we finally have a couple of family photos!  I don't think we have gotten a picture of the whole family together if a few years.  Thank you so much Kelly!  :)

Photo Shoot To Be Rescheduled

I try to take the kids' pictures in the spring every year.  We have all of this gorgeous land around us now to use as a backdrop.  All we need to do is wait for a nice day and go out and snap a few photos, right?  Everything was fine until a few (thousand) mosquitos decided to join us!  So, when this is all you can get for photos, I think its time to reschedule:

We will pull out the bug spray and try again another day.  But, here is one to tide everyone over for now.  Look at that pile of cuties sitting in their nice bug free home!

And don't mind Elaina.  She isn't choking Josie.  She is just popping Cheerios in her mouth so that she will sit still for a minute. 

Overheard...

 

Today while we were learning about stars and galaxies Abby asked, "Is that where heaven is?"
I told her that I'm not sure where heaven is and she said, "I do.  Its up in the clouds in the sky."
I asked, "Well, how do you know that?"
Elaina piped in and said, "Because Jesus went up to heaven on a cloud."
Abby said, "Yea, and He's coming back on a cloud too."

I thought that students weren't supposed to be smarter than their teachers....
On the other hand I'm glad they are more interested in heaven than in supernovas!
